The latest firmware for the Xiegu X6200, version 1.0.7 (251012), brings one of the most visually exciting upgrades so far β€” a brand new 3D Bandscope mode β€” along with a critical fix for inaccurate battery capacity detection.

This release also includes refinements to AGC and NR performance, additional tuning step options, and several stability improvements to the display and spectrum functions.

πŸ†• 3D Bandscope – A New Way to View the Spectrum

The new 3D Bandscope option gives operators a fresh perspective on band activity. It adds a dynamic, three-dimensional waterfall display that makes it easier to visualize signal density and activity over time.
This feature is off by default and can be enabled in the display settings.
(DISPLAY 3/3 > 3D BANDSCOPE = ON)
For the 3D Bandscope to appear, make sure to turn off AUDIO SCOPE.
(DISPLAY 1/3 > AUDIO SCOPE = OFF)
If you experience problems or unstable performance after enabling this feature, do a reset to default settings
(SYSTEM > FACTORY RESET)
The 3D Landscape is a major visual enhancement for those who rely on spectrum monitoring during DXing, contesting, or casual tuning.

πŸ”‹ Battery Capacity Detection β€” Fixed

Previous firmware versions could display incorrect battery levels, which could cause confusion when a charged battery was indicated to be empty, sometimes resulting in the battery management system shutting the radio down.
This update fixes the battery capacity detection algorithm, improving accuracy and reliability β€” especially important for portable operation.

πŸ“ Other Highlights

  • Smoother AGC and Noise Reduction (NR) performance for better listening comfort
  • New 2.5 kHz and 5 kHz tuning step options in SSB mode
  • Refined AM filter bandwidths (9 / 12 / 15 kHz)
  • Optional receive level display in the spectrum window
  • Waterfall speed control (Normal / Slow)
  • Fixes for WFM silence after idle, CW decoder audio crackle, and spectrum freeze when using transparency settings

πŸ“œ Full Changelog

  1. Optimized the AGC algorithm and fine-tuned the AGC rise time in each mode to improve the listening experience.
  2. Fixed a bug where WFM demodulation would become silent after being left idle for a period of time.
  3. Fixed a bug where battery capacity detection was inaccurate.
  4. Fixed a bug that caused crackling noise in the received audio after the CW decoder was turned on.
  5. Optimized the NR algorithm.
  6. Changed the baseband uplink data to use SLIP encoding.
  7. Added 2.5 kHz and 5 kHz tuning step options in SSB mode.
  8. Changed the preset filter bandwidths in AM mode to 9 / 12 / 15 kHz.
  9. Optimized the receiving noise floor.
  10. Added an option to display the receiving level in the upper-left corner of the spectrum window
(DISPLAY 3/3 > SHOW RX LEVEL, default = OFF)
  11. Added two waterfall chart speed options: NORMAL / SLOW
(DISPLAY 3/3 > WATERFALL SPEED, default = NORMAL)
  12. Modified the upper frequency limit to 136 MHz (consistent with the manual).
  13. Fixed a bug that caused a black screen and disconnection when rotating the main tuning wheel quickly while connected to a WR12.
  14. Fixed a bug that caused the spectrum display to freeze (in severe cases, the entire screen would freeze) when the RF spectrum line color transparency was set below 255.
  15. Removed the CW option from the MODEM interface (the CW decoder has been moved to the KEY menu).
  16. Added a 3D BANDSCOPE option
    (DISPLAY 3/3 > 3D BANDSCOPE = ON)

πŸ› οΈ Update Instructions β€” X6200 Firmware v1.0.7

  1. Create the update microSD card by writing the X6200_Update_1.0.7.img file to a FAT32-formatted microSD card using Rufus (or a similar disk imaging tool).
Do not simply copy the file β€” the image must be properly written to the card.
  2. Remove the battery from the radio.
  3. Insert the microSD card into the radio’s card slot.
  4. Power on the radio.
The radio will automatically detect the update image, copy it internally, and then shut down by itself when finished.
  5. Remove the microSD card.
  6. Power the radio on again, then navigate to:
    MENU > SYSTEM > UPGRADE
    and run the upgrade procedure.
  7. After the upgrade completes, verify the new firmware version under:
MENU > SYSTEM > SYSTEM INFO
β†’ Make sure both APP and FIRMWARE display v1.0.7.
